(As opposed to img, img_resized, img_quantised, etc) Unless you need the original image back later, there is no reason to keep it around, and it makes things more readable by referring to image all the time. You are basically just modifying the image (preprocessing it) before doing some other work. It's the same idea as with pandas dataframes, where you just modify your data for whatever purpose you need it. ![]() I think this is a case where you can reuse the image though!
